In the most important drag race in Chrysler’s history, as claimed in the book “We were the Ramchargers”. Running the 61 Dodge, loaned to the team, by Dodge Division of Chrysler, They beat the best cars in the country at the 1961 Indy Nationals. That lead to tracks paying them appearance money and more importantly got Chrysler attention, it started factory backed drag racing programs.
