55 Corvette, first year for a V8 in any Chevy. (Chevy actually had a V8 in 1919) The 55 Corvette could be had with either the Blue Flame 6 or the 265 cu. in V8. Both had 2 speed automatic until late in the year when you could get a 3 speed manual with the V8.
