This is considered a “sleeper”. It has no engine badge, no hood scoop, cheap trim model, a post car (the frame around door window, which also has a different roof line than the nicer model hardtops) and dog dish hub caps on steel wheels. These cars usually started out as fleet cars, telephone company, salesmen car etc. Probably had vinyl bench seats, vinyl floor mat, radio delete. Most were equipped with a 6 cylinder manual on column “three on the tree”. Although most in the mid sixty’s were auto on column.
This car now has a 426 Hemi, with Indy cylinder heads and a torqueflite transmission, notice the Caltrac suspension.
The idea is to have the guy next to you think your driving your grandmother’s car.
