Studebaker closed in December 1963, and the Avanti went on being produced by other companies. I believe they were still being produced into the early 90s.
Andy Granatelli, of Indy 500 fame, was president of Studabaker in 1962, He is responsible for Studebaker purchasing STP in 1963, he then became CEO of STP.
